Our team name is included in the prices above for the gloves.  There is an $8 extra charge per glove to add a uniform number.

We need a minimum 24 gloves to place the order.  16 guys said yes to ordering them and 5 said maybe.  Please consider buying a pair so we can complete the order.

The new uniforms will be a reversible tank jersey and blue and white shorts.  If you have a uniform from last year you can still use it.  Uniform cost will be $40 to $50 and will be separate from the registration cost.

Dues

Registration dues are $150 and will be due at the first practice on Wed. Sept. 15th in St Pete.  Team reps will be there at 7:30pm to collect.  Warmups will begin at 8:30pm.

If you have not emailed in your registration form, please do so as quickly as possible.  thunder@tampabaylacrosse.com

The only financial items that are mandatory are the $150 registration fee, the $50 uniform fee for new players only, and the US Lacrosse membership from www.uslacrosse.org.  If the finances do not fit your budget, please let me know and we will see what we can work out for you.  We don’t want to lose any players because of financial issues.  We want everyone who can play, to play.

No money is due to the team until our next meeting, which will be scheduled for mid to late September, after the league meeting.

If you are interested in purchasing a new helmet and decals, or just decals, I will be sending an email with what you need to do.  Same goes for custom gloves.  The only problem with custom gloves is you may not be assigned your jersey number at the time of order.  You could always order them with your primary number.

In my email regarding gloves, I will have more detailed information on the options.  And we need a minimum order of 24 gloves before we can place it.  Right now we have 10 yes and 4 maybe.  We are still shy about 15 votes so if you have not sent in your registration form, please vote yes for custom gloves!   The deadline for the helmet and gloves orders will be in early August.

It looks like we’ll have about 55 guys coming out for the team this season.  That’s awesome.  So we will definitely register a second team in the league.  The league rule states that all new teams must spend their first season in Division II, so we will have one team in each of the two divisions.

With two teams we will still fall under one program, and continue to practice together.  For our home games we will schedule them on the same field back to back.  The DII team will actually travel less since the 3 primary opponents are in Tampa and Ocala.

Practice will start in late September.  We will practice together for about 4 or 5 weeks, during which time we will get an idea of how we will split the teams.  Our main concern with our Division I team is that with the skill level of our opponents we would like to include guys who can commit to all of the games, or at least 95% of them.  The other concern is the league rule states that once you play in a game for one team you are locked in on that team for the entire season.  We just want to make sure we split the teams as best and convenient for everyone as we can.

For the Fall league.  We will most likely have a total of 8 teams, which includes the 4 local colleges.  We will play one night per week at a central location, on Wednesday nights, from about Oct. 6th to Dec. 15th.  We are still working out the details and will fill you in within the next couple of weeks.  Just keep your Wednesday nights open this Fall.
